Getting to the Chabad House
Upon arrival in El Nido, tell the driver: “Chabad – DEO Hotel”.
A tricycle from the airport to the Chabad House costs 350-400 pesos.
Insert the SIM card into your device.
Go to the website: https://simreg.smart.com.ph
Enter the SIM phone number (you can find it in your phone settings).
You will receive a message with a code. Enter the code.
Follow the instructions. Enter your details (name, passport photo, face scan, etc.).
You will then need to provide a Philippine address and proof of residence. It’s best to upload a screenshot of your hotel booking.
(In the address fields, there’s a line called “barangay”. Essentially, this is a numbered division of areas in the Philippines: barangay 1, barangay 2, etc. It’s not really necessary to enter your exact number. The same goes for the ZIP code.)
At the bottom, you’ll need to enter either an email or a phone number for contact. This is mandatory.
Then, complete the application, and you’ll receive confirmation via message to your phone. You’ll need to wait, and once the application is approved, you’ll receive a message on your phone that the SIM has been activated.
(You may receive a message that details are missing in the application. You’ll need to go back to the link, enter the number again, receive a verification code, and then understand what’s missing. The details you already entered will be saved, and you won’t need to redo everything.)
We look forward to seeing you!
Waiting for you at the Chabad House in the free coffee corner, on the terrace, in the restaurant, at the Shabbat meals, and at our weekly evening events!
Wishing you an enjoyable, safe, and experience-filled trip!
